About Roll Models

Our People
Founder – Benjamin Harvey
In a play on words, Roll Models was founded to provide effective advocacy and support for those living with disability, designed by individuals with relevant lived experience. Under their philanthropic arm, Roll Models provide peer support and are a guide to rolling through life after spinal cord injury (SCI).
The journey to founding Roll Models started in 2003, when Ben suffered a life changing SCI less than two weeks before his sixteenth birthday, whilst playing his beloved sport of rugby union. Through adapting to a new way of living and experiencing the world as a C4 incomplete quadriplegic, Ben has proven his resilience and tenacity, but hopes to create an environment where the challenges that he has faced in his personal and professional life are no longer barriers to others in achieving full and fruitful participation in all facets of society.
In commitment to his mission to create positive change for others living with disability, Ben has taken on the role of SCI Advocate with the O’Shea Laboratory at Boston University, providing end-user advocacy and consumer feedback on research priorities and goals as part of the project planning team.Ben combines his lived experiences of disability, passion for people and a pragmatic approach to deliver a unique perspective on simplifying and solving complex business problems. He offers experience in retail, government and non-for-profit sectors, and is well placed to assist organisations in navigating the various challenges impacting people and performance, to create a just and equitable environment for all.
Our Values
Integrity
Honest, ethical and transparent conduct is at our core. We are accountable for our actions and decisions, and the impact on those around us – we give credit where it is due, we learn from our experiences, and we strive for excellence, every time.
Innovation
Design thinking underpins our approach to redefining and solutioning for complex problems. We seek new and diverse perspectives, challenge assumptions and pursue opportunities to transform things from the way that they are, to how they should be.
Inclusion
Nothing about me, without me. We stand for a world where people living with disability are empowered to exercise their autonomy and are entitled to social supports and adjustments as a right, not a privilege.
